Currently his activities at the National Association of REALTORS® include serving as Vice Chair, Public Policy Coordinating Committee, and is a member of the Political Action Advisory Group. He also serves on the FNMA Housing Impact Advisory Council and the Broker Advisory Council for REALTOR.COM, the world's largest on-line real estate search engine.

Robert served as the 2002 President of the California Association of REALTORS®, which is one of the largest trade associations in the state. In 2003 he received the prestigious Honorary Director for Life Award from the California Association of REALTORS®. Locally, Robert served as President of the Santa Cruz Association of Realtors and received the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Robert is a 1972 graduate of Aptos High School and a 1976 graduate of San Jose State. Over the years he has been a coach for local Little League and Soccer teams, as well as being a strong supporter of youth and various community events in Santa Cruz County.

Robert and his wife, Lillie, reside in La Selva Beach with their two children, Amy and Nicholas..
