As Santa Cruz County has continued to grow over the past 27 years, so has Bailey Properties Inc. The family owned and operated real estate company, which opened its doors in 1974, initially began in the Bailey family home on Clubhouse Drive in Aptos. After a few years, it expanded to a small office in the Redwood Village. There, the three family members worked side-by-side to develop one of the most successful real estate companies in Santa Cruz County. Now Bailey Properties has expanded to three real estate offices, two sales offices and one property management and vacation rental office. The firm now includes over 90 qualified agents and 17 support staff, who serve clients throughout the entire region.

Brothers Paul and Robert Bailey are co-owners and brokers of the company. Robert was the first family member to receive his Real Estate license. He was followed by his father, whose decision to make a career change coincided with his son’s interest in real estate. Paul decided to get involved in the family business the following year when he was a senior at San Jose State University.

In 1986, the two sons bought their Dad’s interest in the residential sales office. In 1991 they moved from an expanded office in the Redwood Village to their current Aptos office on Soquel Drive. They opened their second residential real estate company on Ocean Street in Santa Cruz in 1998. In 2000, Paul and Robert took over management and ownership of their father’s company. Mr. Bailey, known to many as “The Father of Aptos” passed away in 1998.

Today, Bailey Properties Inc. is a well-respected and thriving real estate company. The company is now the market leader in Santa Cruz County because of the Bailey Brothers’ enthusiasm, vision, dedication to the business, and the quality of the agents and staff.

Robert and Paul are active in their community and also serve their real estate community. Robert Bailey will be President of the California Association of REALTORS® in the year 2002.

Bailey Properties has plans to continue their growth in order to remain the number one real estate company in the region.
